Born in the city of Porto, Luís Mota, professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo (IPVC), holds a PhD in Arts and Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (FBAUP).

He is an effective member of the Research Center for Architecture, Urbanism and Design (CIAUD), of the North Pole of the same research center (DisLab).

His preferred research area is the Humanization of processes and design in design, applied to products, spaces and systems.

The most frequent terms in the contextualization of scientific and technological production are: design; user, customization; industry; mobility; product and environments.
